Mr. Busy looks and sounds almost identical to Gopher from the Winnie the Pooh franchise, except he is large, has a big beavertail, and is brown instead of gray. Mr. Lazy is always lazy/sleepy, and he lives in Sleepyland, where there are only four hours a day, as opposed to 24, and it takes two regular hours for water to boil and three regular hours for bread to toast. One day, Mr. Lazy sits down for a nap, and is awoken by Mr. Busy and Mr. Bustle. They overwork him, until Mr. Bustle blows a whistle, requiring Mr. Lazy to run as fast as he can. Mr. Lazy runs, but his legs don't get him anywhere because he is sitting on a chair in the garden. He wakes up to realize it was all a dream, and the whistle was the kettle boiling in the kitchen. He sits down to have breakfast, and the dream really happens. Mr. Lazy and Mr. Noisy are the only characters in The Mr. Men Show to have detailed mouths as shown in scene transitions. Mr. Busy makes a cameo appearance along with the other forest animals (including two red robin birds, three dark blue possums, an eagle, a bear, a raccoon, and a moose), all of which were not pleased with Donald's littering and are seen holding a sign that says, "Keep your Country Beautiful".

He is also very helpful when he manages to remove Lady's muzzle by biting through it (after being persuaded by Tramp).Mr. Busy can't stop rushing around, always up to something, never sitting still. He wishes to have Mr. Slow join him on a picnic, but his inability to stop causes Mr. Slow great annoyance.

Dr. First · Dr. Second · Dr. Third · Dr. Fourth · Dr. Fifth · Dr. Sixth · Dr. Seventh · Dr. Eighth · Dr. Ninth · Dr. Tenth · Dr. Eleventh · Dr. Twelfth · Dr. Thirteenth Mr Busy is the neighbour from hell: not content with rushing through his own life, he actively seeks out others to inflict his personality on. Mr. Busy's model would later be used for Gopher, a character from the Winnie the Pooh franchise. Coincidentally, both characters speak with the same accent. Some of the recycled animation of the beaver was also used for Gopher in Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree in one scene, specifically, the scene in which Gopher suggests using dynamite to blast Pooh out of Rabbit's hole. Mr. Busy is just that, he sure is busy. He is also really fast at doing things. He zips here and zips there and gets so much done that he has to bother his neighbor Mr. Slow. Have you had that friend that comes over and rushes you and expects you to do things just because they said to. Well, Mr. Slow is not interested in a Picnic with Mr. Busy and being rushed. Mr. Slow comes into Mr. Busy’s house and forces him to do what he wants and Mr. Slow is unhappy about it. This is out story.By 1976, Hargreaves had quit his day job. In 1981, the Little Miss series of books began to appear. It, too, was made into a television series in 1983, which was narrated by John Alderton, who, with Pauline Collins, voiced the Men and Misses, respectively. Although Hargreaves wrote many other children's stories, including the Timbuctoo series of twenty-five books, John Mouse, and the Roundy and Squary books, he is best known for his 46 Mr. Men books and 33 Little Miss books. Bold illustrations and funny stories make Mr Men and Little Miss the perfect story time experience for children aged two up. Have you met them all? Mr. Slow (In fact, this book is chronologically before his, so he appears in this book before his own)
