Description

I've always been confused as to what the "correct" orientation of a minifigure's hands is, particularly when holding utensils. Some LEGO® sets contain small parts that are NOT suitable for and may pose a hazard to children under 3 years of age. The project has taken me about three months to develop and to perfect, and about 85% of the pieces were retrieved from the 42077 Rally Car set. Only when you bend your wrist down (so that your forearm makes a straight line, more or less, with your thumb) does the bottom part become larger.

This trend continued until 1989, when the first different shaped LEGO hands came out, which was in the form of a pirate hook. Visit our Minifigure Weapons section for a great range of firearms, shields, and weapons to ensure your minifigure is never caught off guard! The Robot Hand can pick up the carrier from two different sides – the smooth white side and the studded blue side. Industry and hospitals often need to handle and move objects that can be dangerous to touch by hand. Hands are made in nearly every standard colour, with yellow and fleshed coloured ( 2003-present day), being the most common colours.

Also, I made a left hand because I'm left-handed, but you could just switch a couple pieces around to put the thumb on the other side.

With the exception for monkeys, LEGO hands have never been used for any other purpose by LEGO besides being hands for minifigures. Minifigure hands have appeared in every set that contains a LEGO minifigure, which means it has appeared in almost every LEGO set since 1978, when it was created. The color of the plates really doesn't matter, and I think it would look better in a metallic silver.

They also allow us to test different behaviours and functionalities and measure and evaluate their suitability. Add to that the fact that I've done it that way for the last 30-odd years and the other way round just looks wrong! Metal objects and fragile glass containers, for example, are often handled using pneumatic hands or grippers. Just look at every official lego box showing the minifigs, the hands have always been in that orientation. BUT, the default for me is with the flat side up, so if the fig is emptyhanded the hand is flat side up.but I've occasionally seen pictures, and sometimes official Lego ones, that have the hands turned the other way. I find that the design and articulation of human prosthesis very interesting, and would be very beautiful in LEGO form.
